Waterfall Sanctuary
24 × 12 inches | Acrylic on canvas | 2023

This painting is dedicated to my mother and her enduring love for waterfalls. Growing up surrounded by the mountains and rivers of West Virginia, we were never far from landscapes that felt touched by magic—winding trails, hidden streams, and rushing water spilling over ancient stone.

Waterfalls have always carried a special kind of wonder for us. They are powerful yet peaceful, constant yet ever-changing, as though the mountains themselves are breathing life into the world below. This piece captures that feeling of discovery: the quiet anticipation of following the sound of water through the trees and finding something magnificent waiting beyond the path.

TLC famously warned, “Don’t go chasing waterfalls,” but that is one rule my mother and I have never truly followed. For us, chasing waterfalls has always meant seeking beauty, adventure, and the places where nature still feels a little enchanted.
