Night at the Harbor

Sometimes a painting begins with an idea. Other times, it begins with a color.
This piece grew from my fascination with the contrast between deep crimson architecture and a cool violet landscape. As the world slowly revealed itself, I became less interested in telling a specific story and more captivated by the possibility of creating a place that felt real, despite belonging nowhere beyond the canvas.
The result is an imagined coastline suspended somewhere between reality and dream—a distant realm shaped by color, atmosphere, and curiosity. It offers no explanation for the structures along its shore or the world that may exist beyond them.
Not every painting needs to provide an answer. Sometimes, it only needs to open a door and invite the viewer through.
