Inspired by the total lunar eclipse of November 2022, Night of the Blood Moon reimagines one of the sky’s most haunting celestial events through a softer, more fantastical lens. Rather than burning crimson, the moon glows an otherworldly pink, casting its enchanted light across the landscape below.
Hidden within the rock formation rests the shape of a sleeping face, as though an ancient spirit has been carved into the earth and awakened beneath the moon’s glow. The piece reflects my lifelong fascination with astronomy, lunar phases, and the quiet magic celestial events seem to awaken in those fortunate enough to witness them.
